Surviving without a career

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the financial crisis and its effects on my life directly. To be honest, I’ve accepted anything that comes. If they want to take away my car or home, so be it. The next president isn’t going to be any different at changing the core issues that screwed up our economy, or the real civil liberty issues, or the privacy issues, or the corruption in government, or anything that is feeding on this republic.

I am ready to go. Canada? British Columbia or Nova Scotia? Ireland? Dublin! New Zealand? Auckland or Christchurch?

I grow tired of fighting a fight that the majority of people in the United States of America don’t even realize is happening. I would love to disappear to a little cottage or cabin with my wife, dog, and yeah maybe even the cat. I’d be happy living a very simple life without the big screen television, latest and greatest car, computer, furniture, this that and the other.

Sometimes realizations that my current life is what I made it reaffirm that I learn in different ways than others. Brought up to do everything the straight and narrow, avoid credit, stay in school, find a job with benefits, live fiscally responsible and up to your own moral standards, I realize I didn’t really listen. Don’t get me wrong, I love my life. I also realize that what I’ve learned in the eight years as a legal adult as made me change my idea of what my perfect life would be. It has nothing to do with big tv’s, fancy cars, mansions, piles of money. It has to do with what I find at home every day. My wife, my dog, my cat, my bed, my safe place. I don’t care that we have a big television.

My interest in our television fades as quickly as the the picture when the power button is pressed. I don’t care what kind of car I drive. I just want the car to be cheap and comfortable. I don’t care how nice or big our house is. We don’t even use 1 of the rooms, we barely use the dining area, and a lot is wasted space.

I am so done being the typical American consumer that shuffles through life ignoring the best things that really can make me happy. It may mean it is time to get up and move the family elsewhere. I believe that is just another chance to start over smarter. I look forward to it!

Political Discussions

I was e-mailing a friend back and forth about his support for McCain vs. Obama… Here are some quotes:

About gay marriage, I have to ask you, if there was a man who quit working and started dedicating himself to his community for a year. What would you say of this man? Is that a pretty great thing for him to do? He sacrifices for the good of his community.

Now what if I told you the guy was arrested and lost his job when he was convicted and sentenced to community service. Does that make a difference on his actions?

The beautiful thing about being a good moral person, a selfless person, and a Christian is the fact that there is choice. Without choice, we’re not moral, selfless, or good Christians.

On the other side, how does a gay person being married affect you? They’re still existing, having sex, living in our society, and staying together. What real difference would it make if they got married? I’ve yet to see any Christian against gays getting married say one word about Atheists and Agnostics getting married in Christian churches.

As far as Obama being a liar, please show me some examples. Keep in mind, I’m a Libertarian and wanted Ron Paul to be President. I’m not saying Obama is the best candidate of all people that ran this year, but he is the best of the two left standing.

(in reference to an ABC interview)
So a slip of his words about his religious beliefs is enough for you to discount him completely? You do know he was a member of a Baptist church for 26 year or something like that. You think he’s secretly a Muslim but sat through Baptist church services for that long?

(in reference to this guy saying Obama is working with known terrorists and radical Islamic groups)
I  have yet to see any proven terrorists or radial Islamic Muslim groups that he’s been working with. Maybe you could provide some links to proof of that.

(in reference to Obama having NO experience)
McCain’s experience (and his lobbyist campaign staffer experience) are exactly why this country is so screwed up. His experience got us into the trouble we’re in. How could you possibly think that he’s going to fix anything when he’s part of the problem?

(in reference to Obama “going against US policy”)
Going against US policy? I’m not sure what you mean by this. Send me a link of an example.
(in reference to his claim that Obama is the beginning of the end times)
As far as being the second coming of the devil, he’s not Jewish like the bible said. And you think that the second coming of the devil is going to be someone that is incredibly different or someone who fits right in and rises to the top?

This is a black man, first ever, running for the President. He’s from a mixed marriage, which is another first ever. He’s one of the youngest, if not the youngest, running for President. He has all the odds against him yet you think that this is the vehicle the devil would choose?

If it does happen in our lifetime, it will be an average white male with the perfect smile and family. It would be the perfect vehicle to get control.

I personally think its a cop out and very very shallow thinking when it comes to picking a political candidate. McCain is a liar, he cheated on his first wife when she was in a disfiguring car wreck, abandoned her and met his new rich wife, had more kids with her, and has been caught lying more times than I can count. Check out the Keating Five. Read the story about his first wife. Tell me if you think supporting that man is what the Bible tells you to do.

I found the perfect quote for a logical stance on gay marraige as a Christian

“I happen to believe the government shouldn’t be in the business of sanctioning marriage at all. It’s a private religious matter between a man, a woman and God. As a Christian that’s what I believe. As a Libertarian, I say you’re free to believe differently if you want. If your god will sanction a different kind of marriage, then that’s between you and your god. ”

Spreading Democracy?

The jugular

So everyone has been pretty dissatisfied with what has been going on with our government and economy in the last eight years. Just recently however, we took another humongous step towards socialism.

For a lesson on our history: we’re a capitalist society based on the constitution and very pro-personal liberty.

What would the opposite of that be? Well capitalist societies reward (by nature) the work of a company and individual while still having the chance to fail. Now we’re taking out biggest financial companies and removing that chance to fail. That, by definition, is not capitalism. Now you may be thinking, well it was to save the economy. No nation in modern history has EVER bailed out its economy by printing money. Every nation that has tried to do so has failed politically and economically. Our current government has taken over humongous financial institutions and has to now print money to pay the debts of these companies. Do you think the value of gold growing at an exponential rate since the late 90’s is a coincidence? Now when these bailouts were announced, we had two things happen. One, we had all the financial hedge funds short every financial institution (basically using the stock market to make money from those firms losing money). Two, we had a gold rush. What does this tell you? No one in the know is confident in our economy because of what we have done and plan to do. The majority of folks are taking what money they have left and investing in gold. Why? Because if our economy collapses, bullion is an internationally recognized currency. They won’t get screwed over by holding a bunch of decorated pieces of paper.

In God we trust? In greed we fail.

Essentially there is a bunch of back room deals between companies and politicians to help shove money into their bank accounts to keep them afloat while the companies liquidate and merger until they are covered and we are screwed.

If you really want to know how bad this situation is, we were even pushed by the Asian countries to help bail out these companies. Why? They bought up our mortgages and loans as investments and now look to lose their money because our economy is failing. Where is our sovereignty? Why would we ever let other countries influence our fiscal policy?

The two running for President are two sides of the same coin. McCain is an obvious liar. Obama at least seems to want to try hard to make a difference. Neither have addressed the Federal Reserve and its ability to create inflation at the flick of a switch. Neither have addressed backing up our currency with gold. Neither have truly addressed the problem of terrorism and its tie to our terrible foreign policy (for the uninitiated, read up on our foreign policy in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s… this is nothing new). Neither have really addressed the Constitution in a way that would bring us back to our roots of personal liberty and responsibility, free-market capitalism, and non-interventionist foreign policy.

We are watching this country free-fall into failure. Take off the “we’re the best country ever!” t-shirts and realize you’re being screwed and lied to. No matter the hue of your political party, you’re being screwed. No matter how rich or poor, you’re being screwed. No matter what skin color, you’re being screwed. No matter what age group, you’re being screwed.

Even the rich need to realize their investments can disappear at the blink of an eye. If you don’t believe me, read a history book. Focus on 1929 in America. It can and will happen again if we let ourselves stray from our core any more than we have already. It sickens me to realize most people go on about their daily routine not realizing the growing potential failure. It sickens me that our mainstream media is so far up its own ass that we keep our people ignorant and distracted from the core problems that face our country today. The biggest problem with utter failure in our media is that we can easily get passed the point of fixing our country.

Water the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants.”

We have been underhandedly stolen from by multi-billion dollar corporations in cahoots with our elected representatives. Betrayed by the elected elite. Wake up.

We have just been charged thousands upon thousands in inflation and taxes to save companies who charge us money for a living. Slapped in the face by our representatives. Wake up.

We have lost our ability to call ourselves capitalists. We now come to aid companies that failed us so they can continue to fail us and never worry about losing their money at the cost of our own money. Punched in the stomach by a government out of touch. Wake up.

We are running out of time and nowhere near half the country even realizes the circumstances. Blinded by our own media. Wake up.

We have been fed to the wolves, milked dry, and told to smile while it was happening. If you don’t realize it now, if you can’t realize it yet, you will be doomed to fail. When is our black Friday? When do we have the great depression of the 21st century? What do we do when we’re so reliant upon our government and it fails us? Where do we turn?

It scares me to think of the possibilities of our short-term future. Prepare yourself. Take care of your family. Invest wisely. Most of all, wake up and spread the news.
