I feel worse today than I did yesterday. My head is killing me and I keep coughing up little chunks of dark green stuff. I can’t wait until I’m well again. This is getting old!
I had to repost something I wrote in a rant mode…
I hear all the time people quoting scripture for a reason to support the republicans. we now know they lie to us as the congressional report on the iraq war’s beginning shows.
we know they’re the reason we have over 4000 dead bodies to bury in our name.
we now know that cheney has made over 70 million in stock alone since 2003 as a result of his shares in halliburton (which wins bids without competition for work in iraq). we now know they’re taking away our civil rights with names like patriot act. still, i keep hearing bullshit about how obama “is the anti-christ” or “is black so i won’t vote for him” or blah blah blah…
if you want to fix the country now, if you want to prevent your friends and family in the armed forces from dying or being injured in your name, if you really want to do something about this, start doing some research. start writing to the people in power. start telling your friends the truths you find.
if you really think that mccain is going to do anything but destroy this country by keeping the rich rich, the military in the middle east, and our wallets open to those who don’t deserve it, then you’re wrong.
the stakes are too high. the economy is on the brink of a terrible depression. all the the professionals in economics know it. we’re on the edge from something we can’t come back from. the sad part is the only thing that saved america from the first depression was war. world war.
is that what we need again? anyone up for a draft? how many more nuclear weapons are in existence today than there were in 1939?
if you really want to see a “biblical” reason to do something this election season… how about this:
Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood. (Jeremiah 48:10)
to be honest with everyone, i’d rather see a libertarian government… congress and white house. obama isn’t my first candidate of choice. i think ron paul would be the best in the white house. i know that will never happen and even if he did, he’d have a liberal congress to work with. but people are too lazy and complacent. they have their big mac, their suv, and their fox news. even now, if gas were only $2 a gallon again, people would stop being interested in politics. nobody would be focused on going green. the suv’s would be jumping off the car lots again.
the wars (notice that plural there?) we’re fighting would go on ignored by the majority of americans.
my advice is this: to anyone using their “christian faith” as the reason for voting for mccain this year, make sure your conscious is clear. do the research now. we’ve seen what can happen in the short amount of time dubya has been in office.
do you really want another four years of it?
just think what is possible with mccain.
$7/gallon gas (since he’s against regulation of the speculators driving the gas prices up now… big shock)
a currency that is about as strong as a third world countries’ currency (maybe we could sell more monuments and landmarks to foreign countries. or print more money and drive inflation up even more.
or just keep borrowing from china)
health care for only the rich…. (oh wait! ding ding ding! we have that already!)
more dead soldiers in our name (does anyone else know that we have more troops in afghanistan than we’ve had since “we defeated the taliban” ? didn’t see that on fox news, did ya?)
i have to say its a sad day and age with the most critical information that the american public should see comes from a political satire show and reporting from news networks in other countries.
I’m mid vacation. Spending a week away from work and the boring abyss also known as my hometown. The thought of returning is already making a depressing impression on my state of mind.
Grabbing the top of my desk with both hands and slamming my head into the desktop. People… Seriously… Wow…
